You Called, Dum-Dums?

Taylor as The Great Gazoo

The Great Gazoo came all the way the planet Zetox to be in our parade! Well I guess news of the parade has traveled to the farther reaches of the universe...hey, wait a second...that's not Gazoo, that's Taylor. Well, Taylor, you fooled us. Taylor is flying by in a brand new flying saucer. Very aerodynamic. Thanks Taylor for bring a little space age and a little prehistoric times into the parade.

When Taylor isn't flying around in space crafts, the little green fella is enjoying a favorite scary movie; Invasion of the Body Snatchers. Collier's Magazine called it "The Nightmare That Threatens The World!" So it must be scary.

We Rested, see!!!

Well someone let Taylor loose again. I don't know what's wrong with that sheep but it's about time for a tranquilizer if you ask me. Anyhow, I wanted to ensure all of our faithful readers that there was in fact resting* at the Sleepy Sheepy Resort and that you should most certainly visit.

I don't quite think this is checkers Chris

As you can see Chris and I played (well attempted) this fun game. I'd tell you what it was, but it was sooooo hard it made my brain hurt and it's been permanently blocked from my memory. I'm sure Chris or Erin might be able to fill you in on the exciting details.

*While we sheep had plenty of rest, you may not want to to tell the humans about this thing called Wisteria. I honestly don't know what it is, but it looked dirty and painful to me.

Hey!! I Thought the Sleepy Sheepy Resort was a Sheep Vacation

Well as you all know, Justin sufficiently tortured us on our way to the Sleepy Sheep Resort. I'd complain, but I know better, plus he's a little crazy so maybe it was some sort of plan. So after being released from the luggage (Thanks Jesse!!) we curled up in bed with relaxing thoughts of mud baths, deep tissue massages and alfalfa. The next morning we found we were sadly mistaken.

Ugg, What do you mean I have to sit next to DJ

It seems we were off to see the Japanese Gardens in Seattle. Hmm, that seems relaxing and serene. Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad. Little did I know that Erin and Justin were on a mission to identify plants, which meant I got the duties of watching DJ. Let me tell you, this is no vacation.

Get down here, NOW!!!

No matter what we did, the little rascal was off to the races. The gardens were indeed quite nice, although a few more edible flowers would have been much appreciated. We tried to get some group photos, but no such luck.

Don't make me count, 1...2...

It was just endless. Running from one end to the other. DJ even nearly took out a sweet old woman. That was when I just about had it.

No those coins are not for you, but that candle may be

So just as it seemed as if my wool would turn grey and fall out, we decided to sit down on the bridge for a little rest. No way DJ would go into the water right, he knows better. Silly silly me.

Don't fall DJ...wait there's an idea

Yeah he pushed that button and it was on. Hey DJ, if you like playing in that pine tree I bet you'd have even more fun on this lily pad.

It'll hold you DJ, I promise

So he didn't buy my lily pad gambit, worth a try anyways. Well where you fail once, just have to try again. Hey DJ, why don't you pet the ducks

Just don't mind the duck food I put under you

Man even the ducks didn't want anything to do with DJ. I wasn't going to be thwarted though. Has to be something in that pond that likes mutton.

Ohh, that one looks hungry

Well it was a successful trip to the Japanese Garden by all accounts. It was also a restful weekend at the resort for those of us that made it back.

Short Deep Breaths

We made it to the airport and flung open Justin's suitcase. The poor sheep were alive, but barely. They were suffering from heat stroke and dehydration but after a little First Aid and water they were all better. Good thing sheep have better recovery rates than humans.

Drink more fluids...but stay off the carpet.

I think everyone learned a valuable lesson today. Don't get caught in a suitcase for more than 48 hours. Remember when you get stuck in a suitcase your human has no common sense to guide them. Only you can prevent human stupidity.

We're Coming!

We had just finished playing some Xbox when we decided to see what was going on online. And we found Aerin's distress post.

Sheep 911, what is your emergency?

Erin told us everything would be fine but she knows nothing. We have to move. So we are off to go save Aerin and Taylor.

Everyone in and buckled?

If you read this, Aerin, know that help is on the way. Stay strong!

Eww!! It Smells in Here

Live Blogging Experiment 1 :)

So Taylor and I are off to visit the Sheep Resort. Boy will we need the rest by the time we get there. We were supposed to make it out there yesterday, but Iowan's don't know how to drive. The interstate was shut down to one lane and there were two car accidents. We tried to drive around it all, even got to bounce around on some dirt roads. (FYI: Be careful, sharp curves aren't always well marked on gravel roads). Through all that death defying maneuvering we didn't make it to the airport on time ;(.

So now we are camping out in the airport hoping to make it to the resort tonight. I'd offer pictures, but we are still locked up in the luggage (Since Wednesday) and it's starting to smell. I was able to get to dig out the computer and thought I'd run it so the fan would at least kick around some fresh air. It turns out they offer free Wi-Fi in the airport and the luggage doesn't block it. I keep digging for the camera but I'm afraid to go too deep, it might be padded in socks or something.

Anyhow, stay tuned. I hear Chris has many exciting things planned for our short trip to Seattle. I will do my best to live blog the events.

Who you going to call?

Taylor as a Ghost Buster

Taylor from Iowa lives with Aerin and is always trying new ways to get rid of the extra sheep. So this year Taylor is going as a Ghost Buster. Nutroll is Taylor's favorite candy and yet Aerin isn't Taylor's the favorite sheep. Go figure... Thanks Taylor for coming and being in our parade.

3 Strikes and your... Turkey!!

Ug. O suppose it is my turn to write on this silly blog. I guess you wonder what I do when I'm not reading and writing on this blog. Well...it really is none of your business but since everyone else thinks I need to share here we go.

One thing that I like to do is bowl. So when Chris, D.J., Erin, and Franklin came to visit Justin and I took them bowling. Boy did they need help. You know bowling is a sport and has some general do's and don'ts.

Cheers!

"No, its A-E-R-I-N."

Like this, right?

No, let me show you how it's done.

I got it just where I want it.

Ouchie...

This is the one for me.

Good Franklin, remembered your shoes

I smell a good one.

Weeee!

X!

Little help here.

Aw...so close.

Cheese!

And we remembered to put all of the bowling balls away

Well we all had a great time bowling. Anyone willing to take me on, come on out to Iowa. They even sell beer by the mini pitcher (Hey I'll do whatever it takes to win)

Boobies for Bloggers

As a nurse I've found the breast health is very essential.  So today I remind you to go to Boobies for Bloggers (click the title or the side bar) and submit your photo or donate to the cause.  Here is the image I'm submitting this year!
Just look at those eyes, so pretty!!

Besides supporting the cause I find it very important to help my patients.  So in the spirit of things I thought I would share some experiences helping check a patient and then teaching the patient the clock face method for self-exams.  The patient requested anonymity, otherwise I don't always make patients walk around with veils on.
Have to check all the way up to the armpit to find all that breast tissue

Ohh pretty!! Shiny and helpful in teaching

Yeah!! More Friends

So I know what you are thinking, doesn't Aerin always post about new friends.  Well it seems Justin doesn't want us to be bored at home.  It turns out medical school is really busy and he's never here.  Which makes being a therapy support system very difficult, but at least he keeps us entertained while he's away. And no we don't spend all day teasing the dogs, just most of it ;-)

So here are our new friends Chip & Dale.

They are awfully cute, but like to hid in their tree trunk.  It's ok we found a way to get them out

Go Loki Go, get those chipmunks

Ok, so maybe we should be nicer to our friends and then Justin wouldn't have to bring so many home to us.  But at least we have a good diversion to protect us from the dogs.

P.S. No Chipmunks were harmed in the making of this post.  Unfortunately no guarantees are made for the periods after the post.

Permanent Holiday Pt. 2

Will it ever end? Another day, another trip to Wal-Mart and guess what we find. A section of Mardi Gras beads. At least those don't go stale like chocolates. Oh and for Chris, since I continually get into trouble for not carrying my camera around, here's a nice cell phone camera picture of part of the aisle.

Shiny Shiny...What were we shopping for again?

Permanent Holiday

Yeah!! We survived the holiday season, didn’t eat too many cookies, spared the pie and made it home without too many bruises. Those airports can be rough; we won’t even discuss the security screening. Get home, a little hungry after a long day of traveling and decide to go get some groceries. Hoof it on down to Wal-Mart (being a sheep therapist doesn’t pay well, at least the schooling is cheap) and wander our way collecting groceries. After grabbing eggs and dairy products we round the corner fly past the cleaning supply aisles and what do we see?

What no guesses, come on. We know you want to guess, trust us we won’t laugh.

Oh yeah, ok, maybe we’ll snicker a little, lets be realistic now.

Ok, so what did we see, we saw chocolates for Valentine’s Day. Now I don’t know about you, but if I gave my sweet heart stale chocolate I’d be sleeping in the dog house. Around here that’s not even a metaphorical threat…it’s quite real.

So I get to thinking, this aisle here was where the Christmas candy was, so what was there before Christmas. Oh my gosh. This aisle always has holiday candy. Starting December 26th (although we’ve heard of sittings as early as December 23rd) the aisle supports Valentine’s Day candy. After that it goes straight to Easter, with a small section for St. Paddy’s Day. As a side note if 2 month old chocolate isn’t bad enough, what do people do with 2 month old peeps. After Easter I bet its summer grilling and Independence Day. After that its college dorm room supplies. If you don’t think this is a holiday you’ve never raised teenagers. From there it’s Halloween and lastly Christmas.

It’s a good thing us sheep is poor. So many pretty trinkets to spend money on, but we skip the aisle and get to the important things, like the Alfalfa.

What does it take to get a good fluffer around here?

Phew!! I know understand why no one will ever travel with Justin. Taylor and I decided to get adventerous and join Justin on a trip out to San Diego. Seemed like the perfect get away. Which it was, it was just the getting away part that's a little screwy.

1) Drive Faster Justin, Faster:

Hmm, apparently when your flight leaves the airport at 5:30, you are supposed to arrive earlier than 5. Well, Justin forgot this and the nasty gate agent wasn't going to let us check in even though we only had carry on luggage. (Yes it was a travesty, but I managed it). I came to the rescue, showed a little muscle and convinced the gate agent his man hood was more important than giving us a hard time. So we get through security, walk up to the gate expecting a big line only to realize that its 5:10 and we still have 20 minutes and there isn't even a plane on the ground.

2) How does 5:30 = 6:00?

So much for that 5:30 departure. The plane doesn't land until 5:30 so we don't start boarding until 5:45 and don't close the cabin door until 6. Hmm, that layover in Denver is getting shorter. Who would have thought an hour and a half layover wouldn't be long enough.

3) Who thought it was so hard to get a little fluffing

Come to find out that the airplane was late because the APU unit is broken. That would explain why it was so hot in the cabin. It also means the plane can't take off on its own, it needs a little help getting "warmed" up. So the faithful crew at CID bring around the fluffer, but wait you mean fluffers don't like corn? Seems they put the wrong fuel into the fluffer. So off we go for a another one, but wait this is CID, how many other fluffers can there be.

4) I so enjoy sitting on the tarmac

So the plane got its fluffing, became all cooperative and we flew to Denver. We left CID 50 minutes late but that still left us 40 minutes in Denver. Dinner is off the table, but at least we'll make our destination and not have to spend the night in Denver. We touch down in Denver, start taxing and stop. Oh! no you don't!! We sit on the tarmac for 20 minutes. Apparently since we were late our gate was in use and they thought it best to punish us by sitting and making us wait for the other plane to push off.

5) What gate was that?

Alright off the plane and T-15 until the next plane leaves. What gate are we at, oh B91. You mean we are at the farest end of the airport and have two extra long hall ways between us and the rest of the B concourse. Sounds fishy if you ask me. But whatever, so what gate are we leaving out of B24. Oh crap, the B concourse only goes to B15. Could you make it any farther please. Apparently Justin runs or some crazy stuff like that. Two hallways and 4 moving sidewalks later we arrived at the gate to a very peeved looking attendant who doesn't even acknowledge that we (well Justin) is panting. Oh and for the maintenance man on moving side walk 2, sorry about your toes, but really the four of you sitting on both sides of the railing, you're lucky he only took out your toes. I personally was throwing fists a little bit higher.

6) We're here...hey why isn't the door opening

So we take off, fly, get really hungry and land in San Diego. Ok, get us off this plane and lets get somewhere to get our munchies on. Hmm, the seatbelt sign is off, but the flight attendants are not opening the door. What could be wrong, wait why is the jetway still 10 feet away. No way I'm letting Justin try and jump that with me on his back. Yeah apparently all the jetway drivers went home early or something stupid. Fifteen minutes later someone finally shows up and moves the jetway into position and we are free.

Such a nice view, boy was the sun nice that day

Well it was a fun trip. No complaints, but one request: next time we go through the Denver airport, can I ride in a litter. It was a little bumpy riding shotgun on the suitcase. Thanks.

If I Have To!!

Well quite the shenanigans going on around here. It's a good thing I'm stepping in to bring a modicum of decorum back to this blog. Now for those boring but pertinent details I'm Taylor, #100, and reside in Iowa with Justin. As you may have noticed from my picture I'm an avid reader, I was a little perturbed to be bothered for the photo mind you but I tried to smile. Maybe if they give me permission I'll share some of my worldly thoughts and philosophies with you. It might be too grown up for this blog though, since philosophizing isn't exactly prowling.

So what is it that goes here, oh yeah my birth into the flock story. Well I don't know what those crazy homo sapiens had going through their minds, but I was quite happy back on the farm. Serta had finally developed some useful mattresses and put all us sheep out of work. Oh glorious day, I got to sit and read the great philosophers all day. Then one afternoon the caretaker came wandering my way and next thing I wake up on a metal table under some bright florescent lights. Boy did I think I was a goner, figured they were going to harvest my kidneys for the black market and leave me to die in a bathtub full of ice. Now to think, all I can do is dream for such fortunate circumstances. You see I woke up in their research lab; the most despicable of places. Under the guise of NASA funded research those brainless nitwits played Chinese checkers all day long. Ok, so maybe I'm a little harsh they did all graduate so they must have worked at some point, but as much wool as there was flying around that lab they could have just as easily pulled the wool over their advisor's eyes. Anyhow, I was quite petrified in the lab and more than happy to sit in my little corner on my pillow where it was clean and safe. No trips to exotic locals for me. DJ kept mumbling about some boob factory, but then again I never understood that poor thing.

Like I foreshadowed a large portion of the lab graduated and I was free. Well at least free to go home with Justin. He has a nice home, not sure I agree with the color choices but the green does help me feel at home sometimes. Even better it doesn't have cow patty spots, never understood how those creatures live with themselves. Back to the home life story, he even bought me a fun toy. This dog Alex, which is so fun to train. You should see how I taught him to play with Aerin, oooh even better was the time he played with DJ. We'll save that for another day. So yeah I find ways to amuse myself during the day, and occasionally break into the book shelves and find something to read. Its hard with all the smut magazines around here, but I manage to keep the mind nimble.

So my adventures or travels. Well so far I have talked my way out of most trips. Listen if you ever heard the stories about Justin's trips through the airports you wouldn't want to fly with him either. I don't care how much fun it is getting frisked. I hear in the near future we get to go to a cabin and hide away from society. Sounds glorious to me. I'll more than happily go along on that trip. In the mean time I'll try to forget those frightening stories of his travels and try to accompany him on a trip.

Well I'd say it again but really how many times can you hear it. Plus if you've really been reading this entry you know that I probably could care less. So have a good day and for gosh sakes read something informative. Hint, if its the news or about politics I bet its all lies.
